Haarslev's statement on modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain.
Our commitment
At Haarslev Group, we are committed to conducting business with integrity, respecting human rights, and promoting responsible practices across our global operations and value chain.
Haarslev has zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, child labour, or any other form of exploitation. This commitment applies across our operations, supply chain, and business relationships worldwide, supporting our goal of creating a sustainable future while protecting the rights and dignity of all people affected by our business.

Sobre a Haarslev
For more than a century, Haarslev has provided technologies, systems, and services that enable customers to recover, recycle, and upcycle valuable resources from animal, poultry, fish, and food industry by-products. Haarslev's supply chain supports the design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of processing equipment and systems. Key supplier categories include suppliers of steel and metal components, mechanical and electrical equipment, industrial machinery and spare parts, logistics and transportation services, as well as professional and technical services. Originating in Denmark, Haarslev operates globally through manufacturing facilities, service operations, and sales organisations across multiple regions.
Our approach to human rights
Haarslev's commitment to human rights is set out in our Global Human Rights Policy. The policy applies globally across all Haarslev entities and is guided by internationally recognised standards, including:
- The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights,
- The International Bill of Human Rights,
- The International Labour Organization (ILO) Core Conventions,
- Applicable national and international legal requirements.
Assessing modern slavery risks
We recognize that modern slavery risks may arise within global supply chains due to factors such as geographic location, labour practices, recruitment methods, industry sector, supply chain complexity, use of contractors and intermediaries.
Haarslev applies a risk-based approach to human rights due diligence and supplier management. We conduct ongoing risk assessment and screenings, prioritizing risks based on their severity and likelihood to ensure appropriate action where needed.
Responsible supply chain management
All suppliers, contractors, consultants, agents, and other business partners are expected to comply with Haarslev's Supplier Code of Conduct. The Code requires business partners to respect internationally recognised human rights, prohibit forced labour, child labour and modern slavery, provide safe and healthy working conditions, respect freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, provide lawful wages and benefits, promote non-discrimination and equal treatment, and to operate ethically and responsibly.
We expect and require suppliers to apply equivalent standards throughout their own supply chains and business relationships.

Due diligence and supplier screening
Haarslev conducts due diligence on its business partners as part of onboarding and ongoing compliance activities. These processes may include; screening, risk assessments, human rights reviews, supplier engagement, self-assessment questionnaires, contractual compliance commitments, and compliance audits where appropriate.
Enhanced due diligence is conducted where elevated risk indicators are identified. If concerns arise, we work with the relevant business partner to address them and reserve the right to terminate the relationship where issues cannot be satisfactorily resolved.
Our workforce
Haarslev's Employee Code of Conduct explicitly prohibits all forms of modern slavery within our operations and value chain.
We are committed to ensuring that all work is performed voluntarily and under fair and transparent conditions. We do not tolerate forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, child labour, retention of identity documents, recruitment fees charged to workers, any form of coercion, exploitation, abuse or intimidation.
We support fair wages, safe working conditions, freedom of association, equal opportunities, and respect for all employees.
